Young photographers’ winning work on show in Rugby

The Rugby branch of Hinckley & Rugby Building Society is hosting an exhibition of outstanding pictures by young photographers.

Two of the winning images from the Rugby Rotary Young Photographer competition are in the window of the branch on North Street, with more entries on display inside.

Hinckley & Rugby’s showcase of the work is running in parallel to the competition’s exhibition at Rugby Art Gallery & Museum until February 23.

The two winners in the window are:

Intermediate winner: The Detailed Beauty of Nocturnal Bird of Prey, by Matthew Bubb, 13, from Ashlawn School
Senior winner: The Golden Evening Sunlight Casts a Warm Glow onto the Grazing Sheep, by Morgan Thomas, 17, from Lawrence Sheriff School

Rotarian Terri Morgan, the competition and exhibition organiser, said: “I am very grateful to Hinckley & Rugby Building Society for its sponsorship of both the competition and exhibition.

“It has enabled me to produce professional marketing materials and advertising, thus raising the profile within the Rugby schools and community.”

Stewart Heeley, marketing and PR manager at Hinckley & Rugby, said: “We’re proud to be supporting the fantastic creativity of the young photographers in this excellent competition.

“By giving their work a high street showcase we hope many people from Rugby will have the opportunity to admire the work. And it’s also giving our customers a real treat when they visit our branch in the coming days.”
