Pupils from Warboys Community Primary School have visited a new homes development in Warboys to bury a piece of the past for future residents in the village.
The pupils visited David Wilson Homes’ new community to bury belongings in a time capsule, with the help of Site Manager Andy Brown.
The development on Station Road will consist of 200 new homes once completed and already has 103 residents living in the properties.
Children at the school have included a range of different items in the time capsule to show future residents what life was like in 2019.
Jason Hearn, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes South Midlands, said: “We enlisted the help of pupils from Warboys Community Primary School to preserve the past of Warboys in the form of a time capsule burial at our development.
“As a leading housebuilder it’s important for us to consider the past, present and future of our new homes site and with the progress we have been making at Warboys, we thought now was the perfect time to capture life in 2019 in the area.
“It will be interesting for those that open the time capsule in 30 years’ time to see not only how modern day items have changed, but how David Wilson Homes at Warboys itself has changed over the years.”
Angela Boxall, Headteacher at Warboys Community Primary School, said: “Children know the importance of using primary artefacts to support learning from history and were thrilled to be able to offer their own insight of ‘today’ to people of the future by means of the time capsule.”
