TRAMPOLINES & SEGWAY TRACKS MAKE FOR UNIQUE OFFICE

AN UNUSUAL licence for alterations was required to fulfil PKF Cooper Parry’s planned new office move – enabling unique office features to become a reality.

“It’s not unusual to deal with a licence for alterations in terms of a new lease but this transaction required a more unique licence – certainly not one we come across very often,” said Paul Hinchliffe, solicitor and commercial property law specialist at Nelsons Solicitors, which acted for the accountancy firm on the deal.

The new office space, located at One Central Boulevard at Blythe Valley Business Park, Solihull, features trampolines, Segway tracks, gaming areas, popup meeting tents as well as a sports bar.

“As substantial changes to the building were required, we worked collaboratively with the designers on the project, Paragon Interiors,” Paul added.

“Through working closely together we were able to get to a stage where PKF Cooper Parry was comfortable to complete the transaction knowing they could make a start on the alterations immediately.

“The team had very definite goals in terms of what they wanted to achieve, which made the process a lot smoother. We wish PKF Cooper Parry all the best for when they move into their new space.”

With PKF Cooper Parry’s West Midlands office currently located in central Birmingham, Nelsons has enabled work to fit out the new 17,810 sq ft unit.

Ade Cheatham, chief executive of PKF Cooper Parry, said: “We have ambitious growth plans in the West Midlands, with the aim to double our market share over the next two years. The new office at One Central Boulevard will enable us to achieve this goal by providing space for further expansion as we add new experts and talent to the team.

“It has been a complex process but Nelsons has been brilliant throughout, providing us with regular updates and ensuring the transition was as smooth as possible.”

The deal was brokered by Robert Hartley, chairman of Innes England. He said: “We have worked with PKF Cooper Parry for many years and were pleased to help them in finding new office accommodation at this really well located and well developed business park adjacent to the M42. PKF Cooper Parry has completed an unusual and high level fit out at this prime office location.”
