Top International Award for Lincolnshire Badge Making Business

Lincolnshire-based, family-run, manufacturing and supply business, Enterprise Products, has recently won a prestigious accolade at the Department for International (DIT) Trade Business Awards for its continued development and growth of business relationships with Portugal.

Enterprise Products, a predominantly online supplier of portable badge making machines and components received the ‘New to Market’ business award. The DIT awards, run by the Government department which supports and promotes UK trade and industry, celebrate successful British-Portugal bilateral business relations.

Owners, Andrew and Philippa Vear, travelled to Lisbon to receive the award. Andrew said: “We are very proud to have won this award. It’s been given to us in recognition of our continued growing export sales to Portugal via our reseller who is based in Alges near Lisbon.

“Since we bought the business back in 2007 our sales have grown by 182%. One third of our turnover is now derived from overseas sales – our products are now sold globally. Initially, our main business goal was to become the number one manufacturer of badge makers within the UK. This has been achieved and we are now aiming to become the number one manufacturer within Europe.”

The DIT Awards ceremony is an annual event and this year marked its 9th anniversary. Michael Charlton, Managing Director Value Group and Chief Investment Officer, co-hosted the ceremony alongside Kirsty Hayes, British Ambassador to Portugal addressing an audience of over 130 high profile business people.

The Award follows closely on the heels of a significant strategic business decision was to bring the manufacturing of all badge machines to the UK from India. “Most of the production processes are now carried out within 40 miles of Stamford,” says Andrew. “This has provided a valuable boost to the local economy and allowed Enterprise Products employees to upskill during the process.”

The UK continues to be one of the preferred destinations for Portuguese investors on wide range of sectors such as Telecoms, Digital Technologies, Automotive, Food and Drink and Business Services.
