Rosie Smith is the Bank’s Agent for the East Midlands. In that role, she and her Deputy, Pam Wright, help policymakers at the Bank understand the workings of the economy better by talking to the businesses, organisations and people who make up the economy of the East Midlands. Another important part of her role is to communicate the Bank’s views on the economy to those businesses, organisations and people. Combining those things contributes to the Bank’s mission of promoting the good of the people of the UK by maintaining monetary and financial stability. Rosie has worked for the Bank since 1986, half of that time in various roles in London and half as part of the Bank’s network of regional Agents. She lives in Leicestershire with her husband and two teenage sons.
