Invest Ashfield & Mansfield - The area for growth

In Ashfield and Mansfield we are passionate both about learning new skills and sharing that knowledge more widely.  In order to do this, we regularly refer businesses to our events calendar, which we keep populated with events in and around the local area.  These aren’t just our events but also include others targeted specifically at businesses.

Business events are definitely back after the summer break with September/October proving to be one of the busiest periods so far.  In addition to the regular ones, there are also some on specific subjects with IT, marketing, legal issues and business leadership all strongly represented.  Hopefully you will find something that interests you but don’t forget to regularly check our events calendar which is updated on a daily basis.

Invest Ashfield & Mansfield

We will be running a Women Who Do networking event on Friday 13 October at the Summit Centre in Kirkby.  This presents an ideal opportunity to meet other enterprising women.  Here, women may explore working for themselves or develop a new idea in an existing business.  This session includes an interesting social media seminar with an expert speaker and a FREE lunch.

Furthermore, on Monday 9 October, we will be attending the East Midlands Expo at the East Midlands Conference Centre.  Running for a number of years, this well-established and well-attended annual event is a great opportunity to meet people and find out what’s on offer.  We will be there promoting Ashfield and Mansfield as a place to do business.  It’s completely free to attend as a delegate and it would be great to see you there.  Find out more.

Mansfield & Ashfield 2020

In addition to their monthly business breakfasts running on 28 September and 19 October, there is a Modern Leadership Conference on 11 October.  This is jointly presented by 2020 and Qinesis.  With increasing global competition and the rapid change of business dynamics, never before has there been such a need for positive modern leadership for UK PLC.

With the cost of attending just £35 for members and £45 for non-members, it is very cost-effective with quality keynote speakers.  What’s more, Invest Ashfield & Mansfield will also be in attendance, offering an overview of the support that we can provide to local businesses.  Since places are limited, they are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.  Find out more and sign up.

Ingenuity: University of Nottingham

If you fancy an early start, you might find the session on 26 September extremely useful and informative.  It’s all about the impact of Artificial Intelligence.  In short, AI is forecast to have an even greater effect on our day-to-day lives than the internet.  In a similar vein, their session on the afternoon of 4 October covers doing business online.  This will include legal issues to consider and even offers a free lunch.  On 11 October, there’s a full-day on experience marketing.  This FREE workshop will help you map how your customers engage with your service.  And help you determine what types of experience marketing might yield the best results and improve business performance.
