New trentbarton travel shop on Maid Marian Way

trentbarton customers in Nottingham can now find a warm welcome and a first-class service at a new travel shop opened on Maid Marian Way.

The travel shop, which also includes a rest area for trentbarton drivers, is at 67 Maid Marian Way and is open Mondays to Saturdays from 8am to 6pm. As well as getting ticket and travel information, visitors can buy and top-up mango and saver, make lost property enquiries and plan days out further afield.

Nottingham South MP Lilian Greenwood, who chairs Parliament’s Transport Select Committee, cut the ribbon to officially open the new facility and said: “It’s a lovely travel shop, right on Maid Marian Way and right by the bus stops.

“It’s perfect for anyone who wants to pop in. The staff are very friendly and ready to help anyone looking to travel by bus and get to where they want to go.

“It’s close to Nottingham Castle, so is very useful for people visiting the city who may not know which buses they need to get or how to pay for their journeys.

“In a city such as Nottingham, which has a lovely green bus network, it is important people can get every help to make good use of the services.”

The new travel shop brings the number of trentbarton shops back to two, following the closure at Broadmarsh Bus Station during the area’s transformation. The other trentbarton travel shop is at Victoria Bus Station.

trentbarton managing director Jeff Counsell said: “Getting close to our customers and understanding what they need is at the core of trentbarton’s ethos of how to run a really good bus company.

“Our new travel shop on Maid Marian Way creates another opportunity for that to happen in a way that’s convenient, accessible and delivered with a smile.

“Regular customers and people from Nottingham not used to getting the bus, as well as visitors to the city, will all find a warm welcome and plenty of information and advice whenever they step in.”
