New-builds in Peterborough selling fast

The Peterborough property market continues to flourish, as the region’s leading builder revealed strong sales at its new development off London Road.

Persimmon Homes East Midlands has been very active in Peterborough in the last 12 months with hundreds of new homes rising from the ground right across the city.

The builder’s latest scheme, Hampton Gardens on Brickburn Close, was launched towards the end of January – and already there have been more than 50 reservations.

Nova Eames, head of sales at Persimmon Homes East Midlands, said: “We have been selling between three and four properties a week, which really demonstrates the demand for new-build houses in Peterborough.

“There has been a lot in the news recently about the booming property market and the increase in activity by first time buyers. This trend is something we have seen at our sites since last year with more and more people visiting our sites across the region and getting active in the market.

“These are exciting times and it’s a great time to buy.”

Hampton Gardens is a large development which will eventually consist of 866 two, three, four and five bedroom homes.

The development is part of The Hamptons, a 2,500 acre site made up of a series of thriving village communities. Since 1997 more than 5,200 new homes have been built by 30 house builders and housing associations. There are plans for another 8,500 homes at The Hamptons over the next few years.

Each village in the Hamptons has its own neighbourhood centre with shops, takeaways and other local services. There are more than 1,000 acres of open space, lakes and woodland areas which are teeming with wildlife.

Persimmon Homes’ other developments in Peterborough are Cardea off Bellona Drive, Windmill View on Peterborough Road and New Horizons off Broadway. The builder recently sold out at a 60-house scheme called The Print Works on Oundle Road.

The company is also currently building in Narborough, Boston and Bedford.
