More than £1.5 million pounds is set to be invested in and around the Leicestershire village of Fleckney thanks to a new development by housebuilder David Wilson Homes, Fleckney Fields.
The funding, which totals £1,528,252, forms part of the planning agreement for the new development, located on Kilby Road, and will be used to support services and improve facilities for both new and existing residents of the area.
Among the contributions is more than £840,000 towards education in the area, as well as on off-site open space contribution of over £250,000.
John Reddington, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said: “As a five star housebuilder, we pride ourselves on our commitment to the local community and strive to support it wherever we can.
“Investing in local communities is an extremely important part of building a new housing development.
“As Fleckney Fields begins to progress we will not only be contributing to the area financially, but also in terms of the jobs we have created for local people and the quality homes we are building.”
The new development is tucked away on the edge of Fleckney village and is neighboured by scenic open fields that offer beautiful countryside views.
