Franklin Ellis sports red noses and raises money for Comic Relief challenge

Nottingham and Leicester-based Franklin Ellis Architects held a company running challenge last week to raise funds for Comic Relief ahead of Red Nose Day on 16 March.

25 members of the practice took part in the challenge, which took place at Holme Pierrepont Country Park in Nottinghamshire. Team members were encouraged to run, jog or walk a collective 100 miles around the park and had up to one hour to complete it.

Their efforts saw the team reach their goal which equated to 32 laps and raised a total of £450 for the charity.

Franklin Ellis has held a number of other fundraising events over the years and will be taking part in a steps challenge to climb the equivalent height of Mount Everest by taking on the renowned park steps in The Park area of Nottingham, to raise money for Children in Need later in the year.

Joe Taylor, partner at Franklin Ellis Architects, said: “This was a fantastic challenge to do with friends and colleagues for a great cause.

“It was wonderful to see so many taking part for Comic Relief and we raised much more than our initial target. We are already looking forward to our next feat for Children in Need later this year.”

Comic Relief CEO, Liz Warner, said: “We never take this for granted and we are thrilled and astounded by the generosity of the British public this year. We are humbled by the support of each and every person who did their bit for this Red Nose Day.

“Thank you to all those across the nation to the wonderful inventive and creative fundraisers in schools, those who go the extra mile making money in their workplaces and the remarkable people who commit to us in their local communities. We thank everyone who came together to make a difference. The money you have raised will help to change countless lives.”
